Educating social workers in palliative and end-of-life care (ESPEC) is an innovative training program designed for health social workers by social workers to promote the integration of primary palliative care skills into clinical practice.

A virtual symposium, Innovation in Person-Centered Pain Management, hosted by the Alliance to Advance Comprehensive Integrative Pain Management (AACIPM) was held on May 13-14, 2020. AACIPM is a collaborative of stakeholders dedicated to advancing person-centered, coordinated pain management that is affordable, informed by evidence, and connected to quality outcomes.

The Annual Meeting of the Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health convened clinician and health professionals from around the country to mobilize solutions to climate change. This year, advocates came together virtually on May 17-19 to learn, strategize, and educate members of Congress. The theme of the meeting was Climate Solutions are Health Solutions, because the solutions to climate change have short-term and long-term health benefits.

This event is presented by The Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health and the National Association of Social Workers. This webinar educates participants about the health effects of climate change as they relate to social work practice. The presentation addresses the physical and mental health consequences of climate change, as well as the impact of extreme weather events on communities, with a particular focus on disaster response in Puerto Rico.
