The NASW Office of Ethics and Professional Review hosted a virtual roundtable, "Social Work Ethics in Today’s Political Climate," in April 2017. The program is available to the public on demand.
Register by October 5 to access conference videos, slides, and resources on demand and earn up to 11 self-study continuing education units. Those who register by this date will have access to conference content until November 5. Full conference and per-session purchase options are available, with discounts for NASW members. Plenary topics: the Aging Network, trauma-informed practice with older adults, health care social work with older adults, and reframing messaging about aging and elder abuse. Breakout sessions: assessment, HIV/AIDS, interdisciplinary collaboration, the LGBTQ landscape, palliative care, self-neglect, technology, and mental and behavioral health, all as they relate to social work practice with older adults.
Supervisory Leaders in Aging (SLA) improves the delivery of health care and social services to older adults by strengthening the supervision of staff providing direct social services to older adults and their families. Participants in this unique earn 30 CEUs. The program was offered in the NASW New York City, Florida, Illinois, and Maryland chapter between the fall of 2015 and the spring of 2017. NASW palns to sustain the program in those four chapters and to replicate the program in other chapters in 2018 and beyond.
