HIV & AIDS
HIV and AIDS affects us all. Persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS often experience a range of health problems, as well as economic, social and environmental barriers that can impact a person’s mental health and psychosocial wellness. Social workers have the skills, opportunity, and commitment to engage clients in HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment utilizing a comprehensive bio-psycho-social approach.
This page provides resources to assist social workers work at the individual and systems level to end HIV/AIDS. The NASW HIV/AIDS Spectrum Project is part of a collaboration called the SAMHSA National HIV and AIDS Training Resource Center.
