World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is June 15

Abuse Awareness

The National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) will host a webinar for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD), which is observed each June 15. The event increases awareness of the cultural, social, economic, and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect.

In the United States, WEAAD activities are coordinated by the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) and the Administration for Community Living (ACL). NCEA is a resource center funded by ACL and housed at the USC Keck School of Medicine.

At 1 p.m. EDT June 11, NASW Senior Practice Associate Chris Herman will participate in an NCEA webinar panel for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Visit the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day website for more information about WEAAD and the NCEA webinar.
