NASW national has left X (formerly know as Twitter)

WASHINGTON, D.C. - NASW national decided in January to leave X (formerly known as Twitter).

This was not a decision we made lightly. However, the NASW national office decided to go inactive when X removed guardrails designed to restrict the flow of misinformation and disinformation. You can still see our X account but there will be no new postings as of Jan. 31.

Other NASW chapters had already decided to leave X before national. And at least one NASW chapter is considering leaving Facebook.

In the month since Meta decided to eliminate fact checkers and allow more harmful content to be disseminated, NASW has seen an increase in incivility on both Facebook and Instagram as well. As a result, we are closing most of the comments on our posts on Meta-owned platforms.

The good news is you can continue to follow us on Facebook and these other platforms:

Bluesky @naswsocialworkers.bsky.social

Threads @naswsocialworkers

On our LinkedIn company page

YouTube @socialworkers

And TikTok @nasw_socialworkers

If you are a member of NASW, you can also engage with us on MyNASW.

Thank you for your understanding.
