NASW calls for President Trump to be removed from office
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) calls for the formal and immediate removal of President Trump from office, whether through the invocation of the 25th Amendment or through impeachment in the U.S. House of Representatives and conviction in the U.S. Senate.
The despicable attempted coup of our government by a white supremacist mob on Wednesday failed. The election has been certified. But President Trump bears responsibility for this insurrection that resulted in the deaths of five people, including a U.S. Capitol Police officer. He must be held accountable for this and his shameful attempts to subvert the will of the people and disrupt a peaceful transfer of power.
The rioters and all others who enabled them must also be held accountable for this rebellious act of sedition.
The National Association of Social Workers (NASW), in Washington, DC, is the largest membership organization of professional social workers. It promotes, develops, and protects the practice of social work and social workers. NASW also seeks to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and communities through its advocacy.
