Polyamory: A Clinical Toolkit for Therapists

NASW Maine

8:45 a.m.-noon

Working skillfully with polyamory and other forms of consensual nonmonogamy requires gaining cultural competence specific to this marginalized group.

In this workshop, we will provide accurate information about how polyamory works, how to identify what is happening when it doesn’t work, and how to help. Learn how challenges specific to polyamory might present in your therapy room, and gain insight into case conceptualization and multiple treatment approaches for a variety of thorny relational issues. Expand your scope of practice so you can better meet the needs of clients in non-traditional relationships, and stop referring them out. With question-and-answer segments and case discussion, this workshop is sure to be fun, fast-paced, and fascinating.
