This standard addresses ethical requirements related to documentation and the maintenance of client records.

Highlights


  • Standard 3.04(a) now expressly includes electronic records in addition to written documentation. Therefore, reference to documentation encompasses electronic records.
  • Standard 3.04(d), which deals with the storage of records following termination, was revised to reflect that records should be maintained according to the required laws, agency policies, and contracts. The new language now encompasses more than state statutes and adds relevant agency policies.
