Foundation fellowships, scholarships and research awards

The NASW Foundation will accept online applications through March 6 for its 2013-14 fellowships, scholarships and research awards. For details: Web site; e-mail; 202-336-8298.

Call to the 2014 Delegate Assembly

The official “Call to the 2014 Delegate Assembly” is posted on the NASW website. This marks the start of the Delegate Assembly activities, most of which will be conducted online. The timetable for all activities is also posted on the DA website.

The Delegate Assembly is the representative, decision-making body — comprised of 277 delegates — through which NASW members establish program priority goals and develop a collective stance on public and professional policies. The Delegate Assembly meets once every three years. The 2014 Assembly will hold its culminating meeting on Aug. 2, 2014.

Any member intending to propose changes to the Code of Ethics or to the Bylaws (relating to those articles in the purview of the DA) should email Sue Jashinsky his or her intention by April 26, 2013.  The proposals would need to be written and submitted in final form and per the guidelines, by June 14, 2013.

Training of Trainers for NASW HIV/AIDS Spectrum Project

The NASW HIV/AIDS Spectrum: Mental Health Training and Education of Social Workers Project will hold a Training of Trainers July 12, 13 and 14 in Washington, D.C. For updated information, including the application process, please go to socialworkers.org

An article on page 5 of the February issue of the NASW News should have said that Christina Andrews is faculty at the College of Social Work at the University of South Carolina, not North Carolina. The News regrets the error.
