NASW Standards

2010

The aging of the population presents social, economic, and political implications for families, the social work profession, and the global community. Families often struggle to provide physical, emotional, financial, and practical support to their aging members. The NASW Standards for Social Work Practice with Family Caregivers of Older Adults are designed to enhance social work practice with family caregivers of older adults and to help the public understand the role of professional social work in supporting family caregivers.

About NASW Standards

NASW Practice Standards & Guidelines provide benchmarks that describe the services that social workers should provide; that employers should support and that consumers should expect.
